Hizaki in Pencil

Before I begin, I must make a disclaimer; this is not my own original drawing, at all. It is a partial copy from an absolutely fantastic peice by Kluste:

I saw this drawing, and I actually mistook it for a photograph at first. Kluste is superbly talented, and I could be envious of her talent, but what would be the point in that? So instead, I decided, instead of moping about and wishing I was as good as her, I would actually try and improve on my skills. As I've said plenty of times before, copying is the way I learn best. So thank you to Kluste , and I hope you don't mind that I'm using you for inspiration (actually, I just realised, I don't know if you're female or not, I've just made the assumption that you, and apologies if I've got it wrong! @_@ *embarressed*).



Now, the image came out rather dark and pixelated from my printer, so some of the details are a bit off...anybody who is a fan of Versailles, apologies if there are inaccuracies. So yeah, had to try to remember and make up the rest with the little patterns and the necklace (I couldn't tell for certain what it was made up of, looking at my blurry printout, so I decided perhaps pearls). The curls are a little messier and darker than intended, but otherwise I'm pleased with them.

I'm very happy with her face. I see that I haven't done it quite long enough and the shape of the lips is slightly off, but I'm very pleased with it...her nose came out looking like a HUMAN nose not a manga nose and I think the lips look pretty even if the shape isn't exactly correct. This is probably the best drawing I've done in ages, so I'm very pleased with it. I certainly hope this is the beginning of a positive learnign curve!
